Job Description:
The Technician – MEP (Data Center) plays a critical hands-on role in the execution, operation, and maintenance of mission‑critical data center infrastructure. The position is responsible for supporting both active and passive MEP works, ensuring high availability, safety, and compliance with international data center standards. Working in a project‑based and SLA‑driven environment, this role requires strong technical skills, discipline, and readiness to travel nationwide. The technician will support installation, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems in live and under‑construction data centers. Location: Head Office, Islamabad (with frequent travel to client sites across Pakistan)

Skills & Tools:
Education:DAE (Electrical / Mechanical / HVAC / Mechatronics) or Bachelors (BS) in Electrical / Mechanical / HVAC / Mechatronics (advantage)
Other Skills & Competencies
Understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems
Hands‑on experience in both active and passive MEP works
Ability to work in live, SLA‑driven environments
Basic understanding of drawings, layouts, and method statements
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to work extended hours and travel nationwide as per business needs
Certifications (Preferred / Value‑Added)
Electrical Safety / Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO)
PEC registration (preferred).
Basic HVAC or Electrical Maintenance Certification
Fire Safety / First Aid, QEHS
OEM or vendor technical trainings (UPS, PAC, Electrical Panels – any)
Data Center Awareness or Fundamentals certification (preferred)
Job Experience Required:
2 – 5 years of relevant experience in MEP, data centers, or critical infrastructure environments

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Electrical Systems (Active & Passive)
Installation, termination, and testing of LV electrical systems including panels, DBs, ATS, UPS, PDUs, and earthing systems
Support installation and maintenance of power distribution for IT loads and critical infrastructure
Assist in commissioning and load testing activities under supervision
Perform basic fault diagnosis and rectification in live environments
Ensure proper labeling, routing, and cable management as per standards
2. Mechanical Systems & Cooling Infrastructure
Support installation and maintenance of precision air conditioning systems (CRAC/CRAH)
Assist in chilled water piping, refrigerant piping, insulation, and drainage works
Monitor cooling performance, airflow management, and temperature/humidity parameters
Support maintenance of ventilation, exhaust, and pressurization systems
Identify abnormal sounds, vibrations, or performance issues and report promptly
3. Passive Infrastructure Works
Assist in raised flooring systems installation and alignment
Support containment systems (hot aisle / cold aisle)
Perform cable tray, ladder, and raceway installations
Support fire stopping and penetration sealing works
Maintain neatness, segregation, and compliance with data center best practices
4. Operations, Maintenance & SLA Support
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as per schedules
Support incident response and emergency maintenance activities
Follow SOPs, Method Statements, and Permit‑to‑Work procedures
Ensure uptime, safety, and compliance during live site activities
Maintain coordination with supervisors during SLA‑critical operations
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
Strict adherence to HSE policies and site safety rules
Proper use of PPE and safety tools at all times
Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
Identify hazards and report near misses or unsafe conditions
Ensure work quality meets international standards and project specifications
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily work logs and site activity records
Assist in preparation of checklists, test reports, and commissioning records
Update asset and maintenance logs when required
Support handover documentation and as‑built records
Communicate technical issues clearly to supervisors
