Job Description:

The Senior Technician – HVAC is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The role involves supervising junior technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining optimal performance of HVAC systems across all sites.

Job Requirements

  • Base Qualifications:
    • Diploma
    • Intermediate

    Skills & Tools:
    • Technical Skills:

      • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls.

      • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

      • Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.

    • Soft Skills:

    Job Experience Required:
    • Key Qualifications:

      • Education: Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in HVAC, Mechanical, or relevant discipline.

      • Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and installation, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead technician role.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Key Responsibilities:

      1. Maintenance & Repair

      • Perform complex maintenance and repair tasks on HVAC systems and related equipment.

      • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues independently and recommend corrective actions.

      • Ensure timely resolution of faults to minimize system downtime.

      2. Installation & Commissioning

      • Lead the installation, assembly, and testing of HVAC systems and components according to technical specifications.

      • Verify system performance and ensure proper calibration and functionality after installation.

      3. Supervision & Coordination

      • Supervise and guide HVAC Technicians in performing daily maintenance activities.

      • Review completed work to ensure adherence to company standards and safety protocols.

      • Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure efficient workflow.

      4. Preventive Maintenance

      • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce system failures.

      • Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.

      5. Documentation & Reporting

      • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and parts usage.

      • Prepare weekly and monthly reports summarizing maintenance activities, issues resolved, and recommendations for improvement.

      6. Inventory & Safety Management

      • Ensure adequate stock of HVAC spare parts and materials.

      • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members follow established safety practices.

      7. Support & Collaboration

      • Coordinate with other departments to plan HVAC-related activities during projects.

      • Provide technical support and training to junior staff to enhance their skills.

Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

  • Daily Reporting:
    Summarize daily and weekly maintenance activities, system performance, and issues encountered.Prepare performance reports with recommendations for operational improvements.

    Coordinate with the Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer for system upgrades or major repairs.
