Job Description:

Fortek is seeking a highly skilled PMP-certified Data Center Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in managing and leading various data center projects to join our team full time. The Data Center Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, design, and construction of data centers in Pakistan. This is an on-site role that requires the project manager to manage the project throughout its life cycle with the help of key stakeholders including the project team, vendors, and other supporting teams.

Job Requirements

  • Key Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field..
    • Certifications Preferred certifications: AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect, MCSE, VCP, RHCE, or TOGAF.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Duties & Responsibiliies: 

    As a Project Manager specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, you play a crucial role in the successful execution of projects. Your primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of MEP systems, ensuring they meet project goals and standards.   

       
    Key Responsibilities:  

    Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, considering MEP requirements. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to define project objectives. 

    Lead and manage the entire project life cycle of data center developments, from initial planning through to final construction and commissioning.

    Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, timeline, budgets, and risk management strategies.

    Monitor, control and report on project progress, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.

    Drive the coordination of internal teams, vendors, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved efficiently.

    Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards. and industry regulations throughout all project stages.

    Collaborate with senior management and other departments to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables,

    Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of services and materials,

    Lead the team in proble-solving and troubleshooting, addressing project challenges and proposing solutions to mitigate risks,


    Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, schedules, design, specifications, and progress reports.

    Ensure seamless commissioning of data center infrastructure , including managing the final stages of project turnover to operations teams.`

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Daily Reporting:
    Monitor project progress: Review ongoing work to ensure alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

    Manage project communications: Regularly update project teams, stakeholders, and vendors on progress, concerns, and any immediate tasks.

    Coordinate with vendors and contractors: Address any issues or changes to daily operations, ensuring contactors meet deadlines and quality standards.

    Problem solving and troubleshooting: Resolve any project-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to the timeline.

    Document management: Maintain and update daily project logs, reports and tasks,

    Ensure safety and compliance: Ensure that work areas comply with safety standards.

    Team cordination: Hold brief meetings with internal teams to ensure tasks are on track.

    Weekly Reporting:
    Porject progress review: Conduct a review of the week's work with all relevant teams to assess completed tasks, any delays, and next steps.

    Team meetings: Facilitate weekly team meetings to discuss progree, roadblocks, and alignemnt of objectives with stakeholders,

    Update project schedules. Adjust and optimize project timelines based on progress and challenges encountered during the week.

    Vendor and contactor coordination: Meet with vendors and contractors to assess deliverables, address any concerns, and ensure timely completion of tasks.

    Budget tracking and cost control: Review project financials to track spendings, compare it to the budget, and make adjustments as necessary.

    Risk management: Identify portential risks and address mitigation startegies to prevent project delays or cost overuns.

    Monthly Reporting:
    Comprehensive project reviewL Perform a full review of the project;s status, comparing actual progress against milestones, budget, and overall project goals.

    Client and stakeholder reporting: Provide detailed monthly reports to senior management and clients, highlighting project status, challenges, financials, and upcoming goals.

    Evaluate team performance: Assess the performance of the project team, contractors, and vendors, identifying areas for improvement or additional support.

    Project quality checks: Ensure that all project delivearbles meet the required standards of quality , safety, and regulatory compliance,

    Financial reconciliation: Review overall project spending and recocile any discrepancies or adjustments needed to stay within budget.

    Forecast future project needs: Plan for upcoming phases, such as design approval, procurement, and construction, ensuring the team and vendors are prepared for the next stages.
