Job Description:

Fortek is seeking a seasoned and performance-driven Assistant Manager-Supply Chain & Logistics, Specialist to lead strategic sourcing, imports, and nationwide logistics operations for mission-critical Data Center and IT infrastructure projects.

This role is designed for a senior professional with deep expertise in international procurement, OEM coordination, commercial negotiations, import compliance, and project-based logistics management. The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to Data Center equipment imports & local sourcing (UPS, Cooling Systems, Racks, PDUs, Fire Suppression, Precision ACs, Switchgear, Structured Cabling, Servers & Networking equipment) and must be capable of handling end-to-end supply chain operations in a fast-paced ICT integrator environment.

Travel Requirements: The role requires frequent travel across Pakistan to project sites, warehouses, ports, and vendor locations as per business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Base Qualifications:

    Skills & Tools:

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.

    • Master’s Degree (MBA Supply Chain / Logistics) preferred.

    • Strong understanding of Data Center infrastructure components is mandatory.

    • Knowledge of Pakistan import regulations and commercial compliance.

    Certifications (Preferred)

    • CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional – APICS)

    • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)

    • CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport)

    • PMP (for project coordination exposure)

    • Certification in International Trade / Customs Compliance

    • ERP/Odoo certification (added advantage)

    Job Experience Required:
    8–12 Years of relevant experience (Data Center / ICT Integrator / Infrastructure Projects)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard local and international vendors/OEMs for Data Center infrastructure components.

    • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, priority allocations, and SLA adherence.

    • Conduct commercial negotiations including pricing, Incoterms, lead times, payment terms, warranty, and penalties.

    • Evaluate vendor performance through KPIs such as delivery timelines, compliance rate, cost efficiency, and service levels.

    • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure product specifications align with BOQs and project requirements.

    • Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply risks.

    2. International Procurement & Import Management

    • Manage end-to-end import cycle including PO issuance, order tracking, freight arrangements, documentation, and customs clearance.

    • Ensure compliance with Pakistan customs regulations, HS codes, SROs, and FBR requirements.

    • Coordinate with freight forwarders, clearing agents, banks (LCs), and insurance providers.

    • Manage shipments under various Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW, DDP, etc.).

    • Track global lead times and proactively update project stakeholders.

    • Ensure proper documentation: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, COO, Form E, Insurance, LC documents.

    • Mitigate import delays and resolve port-related issues efficiently.

    3. Project-Based Logistics & Site Coordination

    • Plan and execute nationwide logistics for Data Center equipment delivery to project sites.

    • Coordinate with project managers and site engineers for delivery scheduling.

    • Arrange specialized transportation for sensitive equipment (UPS batteries, precision cooling units, racks, etc.).

    • Monitor safe handling, offloading, and site receipt confirmations.

    • Ensure compliance with safety and insurance standards during transit.

    • Handle reverse logistics and material returns (if required).

    4. Inventory & Warehouse Management

    • Implement structured inventory control systems aligned with ERP (Odoo or similar).

    • Monitor stock levels for fast-moving and critical items.

    • Conduct periodic stock audits and reconciliation.

    • Manage warehousing practices to ensure equipment safety and compliance.

    • Coordinate with finance for GRN, invoicing, and stock valuation accuracy.

    • Optimize storage utilization and minimize holding costs.

    5. Commercial Coordination & Cost Control

    • Prepare comparative statements (CS) for management approvals.

    • Maintain procurement budgets aligned with project margins.

    • Work closely with Finance for payment scheduling and cash flow planning.

    • Control landed cost calculations (duty, freight, insurance, demurrage).

    • Support tendering teams with updated pricing and vendor commitments.

    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or SLAs.

    6. Risk Management & Compliance

    • Identify supply chain risks (global shortages, currency fluctuations, port congestion).

    • Develop contingency plans for critical path equipment.

    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and SLAs.

    • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.

    • Monitor exchange rate impacts on procurement planning.

    7. Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Prepare weekly and monthly procurement status reports.

    • Provide shipment tracking updates to stakeholders.

    • Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Sales, and Finance departments.

    • Maintain updated procurement dashboards and vendor databases.

    • Present supply chain performance reports to management.

Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

    Coordinate with project teams regarding delivery timelines.
    Process purchase orders and vendor confirmations.
    Resolve customs/documentation issues.
    Update ERP with procurement data and GRNs.

    Prepare procurement and shipment status report.
    Conduct vendor follow-ups for pending deliveries.
    Review inventory levels and replenishment planning.
    Attend project coordination meetings.
    Monitor import documentation compliance.

    Monthly Reporting:

    Vendor performance evaluation.
    Inventory reconciliation and audit support.
    Budget vs. actual procurement cost review.
    Supply chain risk assessment.
    Performance KPI reporting to management.
