Job Description:

The Senior Supervisor / Site Engineer – HVAC leads engineering execution, SLA governance, project milestone tracking, and client coordination for data center and mission-critical cooling systems. The role bridges supervision and engineering oversight, ensuring technical accuracy, system reliability, cost control, and structured ERP reporting.

Job Location

Head Office (Islamabad) with frequent/occasional travel to project sites across Pakistan.

Candidate must be willing to travel nationwide as per business requirements.

    Qualifications

    • DAE / Diploma in Mechanical / HVAC Engineering

      OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

    Certifications (Preferred)

    • NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely

    • HVAC Project Execution & Commissioning Training

    • OEM advanced HVAC certifications

    • Basic Project Management training


    Job Experience Required:
    • 5 – 8 years of relevant HVAC experience

    • Strong exposure to Data Center projects, SLA operations, and critical infrastructure

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Engineering Oversight & Commissioning Control

    • Review and technically validate HVAC drawings, shop drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and method statements prior to execution.

    • Ensure compliance with approved BOQs, design intent, project specifications, and applicable industry standards.

    • Validate cooling load calculations, airflow distribution logic, and redundancy configuration (N+1 / 2N where applicable).

    • Verify correct equipment selection, placement, vibration isolation, and piping routing.

    • Supervise system testing including pressure testing, vacuuming, refrigerant charging, and leak detection.

    • Lead commissioning activities including functional testing of CRAC/CRAH units, VRF systems, chillers, AHUs, and control interfaces.

    • Validate thermostat, sensor, BMS, and interlock integration with electrical and control systems.

    • Approve installation quality prior to client inspection and handover.

    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major system failures or repeated breakdowns.

    • Develop corrective and preventive action plans based on failure trends.

    • Ensure documentation of commissioning reports and test certificates in ERP.

    • Ensure compliance with LOTO and electrical safety procedures during testing phases.

    2. Project Planning & Multi-Site Coordination

    • Develop detailed HVAC execution schedules aligned with master project timelines.

    • Break down project activities into daily, weekly, and milestone-based deliverables.

    • Align manpower allocation with workload and site complexity.

    • Coordinate HVAC activities with electrical, ICT, fire safety, and civil teams.

    • Ensure material readiness and timely procurement coordination.

    • Monitor progress against baseline schedule and highlight delays proactively.

    • Track installation productivity and performance efficiency.

    • Manage inter-site coordination when multiple projects are running simultaneously.

    • Oversee subcontractor performance and enforce quality standards.

    • Validate material consumption against BOQ and approved quantities.

    • Support cost monitoring and variance tracking at site level.

    • Escalate risks affecting timeline, cost, or scope to Assistant Manager / Project Manager.

    3. SLA Performance Governance

    • Monitor HVAC uptime performance metrics for operational sites.

    • Track SLA response time and resolution time compliance through Odoo.

    • Analyze downtime incidents and categorize by fault type (mechanical, electrical, control).

    • Review preventive maintenance completion rates and quality of execution.

    • Ensure timely closure of corrective maintenance tickets.

    • Validate spare parts availability for critical systems.

    • Monitor temperature and humidity compliance trends in data center environments.

    • Conduct periodic review of system reliability and energy efficiency.

    • Identify recurring failure patterns and recommend engineering solutions.

    • Develop performance improvement plans for underperforming sites.

    • Ensure proper documentation of SLA compliance reports.

    • Support emergency escalation handling for critical outages.

    4. Team Leadership & Technical Mentorship

    • Lead Supervisors, Senior Technicians, and technical teams across sites.

    • Assign responsibilities based on competency and site requirements.

    • Conduct structured technical briefings and toolbox sessions.

    • Mentor supervisors in troubleshooting methodologies and problem-solving frameworks.

    • Evaluate technical performance and workmanship quality.

    • Identify performance gaps and initiate corrective coaching.

    • Recommend technical training and certification programs aligned with Fortek Appraisal Framework.

    • Participate in recruitment technical interviews and skill evaluations.

    • Support succession planning for high-potential staff.

    • Approve manpower planning and deployment strategies.

    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and discipline.

    • Promote continuous learning and professional development.

    5️. Client, Audit & Reporting Governance

    • Attend client technical coordination meetings and progress reviews.

    • Present structured monthly SLA performance dashboards.

    • Communicate technical updates, risks, and mitigation plans professionally.

    • Support internal and external audits (technical, safety, compliance).

    • Ensure complete and accurate submission of documentation (commissioning reports, PM logs, test results).

    • Validate ERP data integrity for project, asset, and maintenance records.

    • Review Odoo Maintenance, Projects, and Helpdesk entries for accuracy and completeness.

    • Ensure traceability of breakdown history and service actions.

    • Prepare executive summaries for Assistant Manager / Management review.

    • Support pre-handover and post-handover client inspections.

    • Maintain structured communication between site teams and management.
