Job Description:
The
Pre-Sales Trainee is an entry-level, learning-oriented role designed for fresh
engineering/CS graduates to build a strong foundation in ICT and data center
infrastructure solution-selling. The incumbent supports the Pre-Sales team in
proposal preparation, product research, and vendor documentation, while
progressively developing the technical and commercial skills required to grow
into an Associate Pre-Sales Engineer role. This
is a structured on-ramp into Fortek's Pre-Sales career ladder, combining
on-the-job mentorship with OEM product training and certification exposure. Head Office (Islamabad) with travel as per job needs across Pakistan.Job Location

Educational Qualifications
- BS Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Telecom) or Computer Science — final year students or fresh graduates from an HEC-recognized university.
Core Skills & Competencies
Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of networking concepts, electrical fundamentals, or IT systems; willingness to pursue OEM certifications.
Tools: MS Office (especially Excel/PowerPoint), basic AutoCAD/Visio exposure preferred but not mandatory.
Job Experience Required:
Fresh to 1 year; internship or FYP exposure to networking, electrical systems, or IT infrastructure is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

1 Proposal & Documentation Support
- BOQ Assistance: Assist senior Pre-Sales Engineers in compiling Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical datasheets, and solution write-ups for client proposals.
- Document Compilation: Support preparation of technical compliance sheets, pre-qualification documents, and tender annexures under supervision.
- Template Maintenance: Maintain and update the Pre-Sales proposal template library, product catalogs, and price-list repository.
- Formatting & Quality: Proofread and format technical proposals for consistency with Fortek's branding and documentation standards before submission.
- 2 Product & OEM Learning
- Product Research: Research OEM datasheets and build comparison matrices across precision cooling, UPS, racks, structured cabling, networking, and DCIM product lines.
- Certification Track: Actively participate in OEM training sessions and pursue foundation-level certifications (vendor associate badges, CCNA fundamentals) within the first 6–12 months.
- Sizing Tools: Learn OEM sizing/selection tools (UPS/cooling sizing calculators, rack layout tools) under guidance of senior team members.
- Solution Awareness: Build working familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier classifications and TIA-942 standards as applied to Fortek's solution portfolio.
3 Site & Client Exposure
- Site Survey Support: Accompany senior engineers on site surveys to observe requirement-gathering and technical feasibility assessment.
- Demo & PoC Assistance: Support logistics and documentation for OEM demo days and proof-of-concept (PoC) sessions.
- Client Interaction Exposure: Observe client-facing technical discussions to build presentation and communication competency over time.
4 Vendor & Internal Coordination- Vendor Follow-ups: Support follow-ups with OEM/vendor representatives for pricing, datasheets, and technical clarifications.
- Sales Liaison: Coordinate with the Sales team to gather RFP/RFQ documents and client requirement briefs for internal review.
- Cross-functional Support: Assist Projects/Delivery teams with documentation handover on straightforward, trainee-suitable tasks.
5 Compliance & Reporting- Activity Logging: Log all assigned tasks, proposal drafts, and vendor follow-ups accurately and on time.
- Learning Plan Adherence: Track personal certification and learning-plan progress against agreed milestones.
- Policy Compliance: Adhere to Fortek's confidentiality, documentation, and ethical business conduct policies at all times.
