Job Description:
Fortek is seeking a detail-oriented and technically adept Junior Presales Engineer to join our dynamic team in Islamabad. In this role, you will act as the critical bridge between our sales vision and technical execution. You will be responsible for crafting accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), designing multi-domain solutions (IT, Networking, AV, Drone, Civil, MEP), and supporting the tender submission process (PPRA/Enterprise). The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundational knowledge of ICT infrastructure, a proven ability to coordinate with OEMs for competitive pricing, and the willingness to travel across Pakistan for site surveys and client meetings. You will work under the guidance of Senior Presales Engineers while taking ownership of technical documentation and vendor coordination to ensure Fortek delivers best-in-class, SLA-focused Data Center and Infrastructure solutions. Head Office (Islamabad) with frequent/occasional travel to project sites across Pakistan.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Telecom / Mechanical) – Mandatory
- Master’s in Project Management / Engineering Management (Preferred)
Professional Certifications (Preferred)

- Primavera P6 / MS Project (Strongly Preferred)
- ITIL Foundation
- CDCP / CDCS (Data Center Certifications)
- Risk Management or Agile certifications (Optional advantage)

Job Experience Required:
10–15 years of relevant experience in ICT / Data Center / EPC projects
Proven experience in managing large-scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
Experience working on government (PPRA), telecom, or large-scale private sector projects is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Project Delivery & Execution Leadership
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of Data Center and ICT infrastructure projects from mobilization to commissioning and handover.
- Ensure alignment of project execution with approved scope, contractual deliverables, and client expectations.
- Monitor project progress against milestones and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
- Drive execution efficiency by proactively resolving site-level and coordination challenges.
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure successful project closure and handover documentation.
2. Project Planning, Scheduling & Controls Oversight
- Review and approve project schedules, baselines, and execution strategies developed by Planning Engineers.
- Monitor critical path activities and ensure mitigation plans are implemented for delays.
- Oversee schedule performance using metrics such as SPI and milestone adherence.
- Ensure proper integration of procurement, logistics, and site execution timelines.
- Validate re-baselining decisions and ensure proper documentation of schedule changes.
3. Cost Management & Commercial Control
- Monitor project budgets and ensure cost performance remains within approved limits.
- Identify potential cost overruns early and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure alignment of procurement activities with budget forecasts and margin targets.
- Support billing milestones, invoicing validation, and revenue recognition processes.
- Review variation orders and ensure proper documentation and approvals for claims.
4. Vendor, Subcontractor & OEM Management
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for timely delivery of equipment and technical support.
- Evaluate vendor performance against SLAs and contractual obligations.
- Resolve escalations related to vendor delays, technical issues, or quality concerns.
- Ensure vendor documentation and deliverables meet project requirements.
5. Risk, Issue & Compliance Management
- Identify project risks across technical, commercial, and execution domains and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.
- Maintain oversight of risk registers and issue logs across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance processes, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Lead escalation management and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
- Conduct periodic project audits and compliance reviews.
6. Stakeholder Management & Client Coordination
- Act as the primary interface for client-side coordination on project execution matters.
- Ensure clear communication of project status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Lead project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and ensure alignment between technical and commercial commitments.
- Support business teams during project handover from Pre-Sales to execution.
7. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and mentor Project Coordinators, Planning Engineers, and site execution teams.
- Ensure team alignment with project objectives and performance KPIs.
- Conduct structured performance reviews and provide development feedback.
- Promote a culture of accountability, documentation discipline, and execution excellence.
- Support capability building within the PMO and Projects teams.
8. ERP Governance & Reporting (Odoo)
- Ensure all project activities, milestones, and updates are accurately reflected in ERP systems.
- Review and validate project dashboards for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor KPI performance across projects through ERP reporting tools.
- Ensure timesheet compliance and alignment with project activities.
- Drive data accuracy for executive reporting and decision-making.
9. Quality Assurance & Commissioning Oversight
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and approved technical specifications during execution.
- Oversee testing and commissioning processes for infrastructure systems.
- Validate snag list closure before project handover.
- Ensure documentation for commissioning, testing, and acceptance is complete.
- Support final project closure and lessons learned documentation.
Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)
