Fortek's Channel/Distribution
business having partnerships covering Leo Laptops, H3C products, and Pantum
printers among others. With this expansion into distribution/channel, we are
building out our after-sales technical service capability and are looking for a
hands-on, detail-oriented Service Technician to install, diagnose, repair, and
maintain printers for our clients and channel partners. You'll be the person
who keeps printers running reliably — handling everything from installation and
preventive maintenance to fault diagnosis, repair, and warranty/RMA processing
— and you'll be the foundation of a technical service team we expect to grow as
this business line scales. Location: Head Office, Islamabad (frequent travel across Pakistan as per business needs)

Skills & Tools:
Essential:- Diploma/Certificate (DAE) in Electronics, Electrical, IT Hardware, or a related technical trade.
Preferred
- OEM-authorized service training/certification (Pantum or equivalent printer brand) is a strong advantage; Fortek will support certification where not already held.
- Pantum (or equivalent OEM) authorized service technician certification — strongly preferred
- Basic electronics/electrical trade certification (DAE or equivalent) — preferred.
Other Key Skills:
- Hands-on printer diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance
- Familiarity with printer mechanics — fusers, rollers, drums, print heads, feed mechanisms
- Basic electrical/electronics troubleshooting
- Spare parts and inventory awareness
- Customer-facing communication and clear service documentation
- Basic computer literacy; comfort logging tickets/records in ODOO or a similar system
- Time management and the ability to prioritize multiple service requests
- Willingness to travel to client/channel partner sites across the assigned territory
- Physical ability to safely handle equipment transport, disassembly, and repair tasks
Job Experience Required:
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience repairing/servicing printers or similar office/IT hardware (photocopiers, scanners) preferred; fresh technical diploma holders with strong aptitude may also be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Printer Installation, Diagnostics & Repair
- Install, configure, and set up new printers (Pantum and other supported brands) at client and channel partner sites, confirming full functionality before handover.
- Diagnose hardware and mechanical faults — paper jams, print quality issues, fuser/roller/drum faults, connectivity problems — using OEM diagnostic tools and procedures.
- Carry out repairs, part replacements, and calibration in line with OEM technical guidelines and safety standards.
- Conduct on-site and in-workshop repairs, prioritizing based on service SLAs and client criticality.
- Test every repaired unit thoroughly before returning it to service, to protect quality and reduce repeat call-outs.
2. Preventive Maintenance & Servicing
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits for client and channel partner printer fleets to minimize downtime.
- Clean, calibrate, and service printers — rollers, fusers, print heads, drums — per OEM maintenance schedules.
- Proactively recommend consumable or part replacements based on observed usage and wear.
- Maintain a service history log for each unit/client to support long-term maintenance planning.
3. Warranty, RMA & Vendor Coordination- Process warranty claims and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) requests with Pantum and other OEM partners, ensuring timely resolution.
- Coordinate with vendor/OEM technical support teams on complex faults, firmware updates, or parts availability.
- Ensure all warranty and service work complies with OEM/vendor authorized-service requirements.
- Pursue and maintain OEM-authorized technician certification(s) as required to service Fortek's distributed brands.
4. Spare Parts & Inventory Management- Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools required for repairs and servicing.
- Coordinate with Procurement/Warehouse on timely replenishment of frequently used parts.
- Track parts usage per job/ticket to support accurate costing and vendor warranty claims.
5. Customer Support & Service Documentation- Respond promptly and professionally to client and channel partner service requests, with clear updates on repair status and timelines.
- Maintain detailed, accurate service reports/job cards for every repair, maintenance visit, or installation.
- Escalate recurring or unresolved issues to the reporting manager or OEM technical support as needed.
- Provide basic user guidance to clients on printer operation and care to reduce recurring service calls.
6. ODOO-Based Service Ticket & Records Management- Log, update, and close service tickets/work orders in Fortek's ODOO system accurately and on time.
- Maintain digital records of service history, parts used, and warranty status per unit/client in ODOO.
- Generate basic service activity reports for the reporting manager as required.
7. Compliance, Safety & Quality Standards- Follow all safety protocols when handling printer components, including electrical and mechanical hazards.
- Ensure repairs and servicing meet Fortek's and the OEM's quality standards before sign-off.
- Support internal audits or quality reviews related to service records and warranty documentation.

• Attend to assigned service tickets and repair jobs, prioritizing by SLA and client criticality.
• Log completed jobs, parts used, and service notes in ODOO.
• Respond to urgent breakdown calls from clients or channel partners.
• Restock or report any spare parts/consumables used during the day's jobs.
Weekly Reporting:
Weekly Tasks:
• Review the pending/backlog ticket queue with the reporting manager.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance visits for the week.
• Reconcile spare parts usage and flag any inventory shortages.
• Follow up on any open warranty/RMA claims with the OEM.
Monthly Reporting:

• Submit a monthly service performance summary — tickets closed, SLA adherence, recurring issues.
• Review warranty/RMA claims status with the vendor and close out completed cases.
• Participate in a monthly technical/team review meeting.
• Progress any scheduled OEM certification or training.
