The AVP Technical & Projects
Infrastructure (Data Center) is a senior leadership role responsible for
end-to-end management, delivery, and operational readiness of mission-critical
data center infrastructure projects. This role oversees the complete lifecycle
of data center projects—from solution design, presales technical governance,
and execution to commissioning, handover, and SLA-driven support readiness. The position demands deep expertise in
Tier II–IV Data Center infrastructure, strong command over multi-vendor
environments, and the ability to lead large cross-functional technical and
project teams. The AVP ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget,
compliant with international standards, and aligned with client SLAs and
business objectives. This role acts as the technical authority
and delivery owner for data center projects, bridging customers, consultants,
OEMs, subcontractors, and internal teams while maintaining the highest
standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence. This role is critical to positioning the
organization as a trusted delivery partner for mission-critical data center
infrastructure, ensuring technical excellence, predictable delivery, and
long-term client confidence.

Job Experience Required:
· 12–18+ years of progressive experience in data center infrastructure projects
· Minimum 10+ years in a senior leadership or head-of-function role
· Proven track record in delivery of Tier II–IV data centers or mission-critical facilities
· Experience managing large project portfolios, multi-site deployments, and complex stakeholder environments
· Strong exposure to vendor-neutral, multi-OEM ecosystems
Duties & Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Governance
· Act as the technical authority for all data center infrastructure projects including power, cooling, racks, structured cabling, BMS/DCIM, fire detection & suppression, and physical security systems.
· Establish and enforce technical standards, design guidelines, and best practices aligned with international data center frameworks.
· Review, approve, and optimize concept designs, detailed designs, and as-built documentation.
· Ensure technical compliance with Tier requirements, redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N), and availability targets.
2. End-to-End Project Management Oversight
· Oversee complete project lifecycle from kickoff to final handover and support transition.
· Ensure adherence to scope, schedule, cost, and quality baselines across all projects.
· Implement robust project governance frameworks, risk registers, and escalation mechanisms.
· Monitor project KPIs, earned value, cash flow, and resource utilization.
3. Design, Engineering & Commissioning
· Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams covering electrical, mechanical, ELV, and ICT systems.
· Oversee integrated systems testing (IST), FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities.
· Ensure successful achievement of uptime, resiliency, and performance benchmarks.
· Drive energy efficiency initiatives including PUE optimization.
4. Client & Stakeholder Management
· Serve as the senior technical interface for enterprise, colocation, telecom, and hyperscale clients.
· Participate in technical presales discussions, solution walkthroughs, and high-level proposals.
· Manage expectations of clients, consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
· Lead resolution of critical technical or contractual issues.
5. Vendor, OEM & Partner Management
· Manage relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and subcontractors.
· Evaluate vendors for technical capability, compliance, and long-term reliability.
· Lead contract technical negotiations, BOQs, and scope clarifications.
· Ensure adherence to delivery timelines, warranties, and performance guarantees.
6. SLA, Operations & Support Readiness
· Ensure all delivered projects are operations-ready and aligned with SLA requirements.
· Oversee creation of O&M manuals, SOPs, escalation matrices, and training plans.
· Coordinate smooth transition from project delivery to managed services or operations teams.
· Support post-handover audits, performance reviews, and SLA compliance checks.
7. Financial & Commercial Oversight
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for large-scale infrastructure projects.
· Optimize project margins through value engineering and risk mitigation.
· Review variation orders, claims, and commercial implications of technical changes.
8. Team Leadership & Capability Development
· Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical and project teams.
· Build internal capability in data center engineering, commissioning, and project controls.
· Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
9. Compliance, Quality & HSE
· Ensure compliance with international codes, local regulations, and safety standards.
· Enforce strict HSE policies across all project sites.
· Lead quality audits, lessons learned, and corrective action initiatives.
Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

Daily Reporting:
• Review project progress, risks, and technical issues
• Provide technical guidance to project and site teams
• Address escalations from clients or internal stakeholders
• Review and validate ongoing data center solution designs including power, cooling, space, and redundancy models
• Provide daily technical inputs to presales and solutioning teams for active bids and proposals
• Ensure proposed designs align with client SLAs, Tier objectives, and cost-performance targets
• Guide optimization of designs for resilience, scalability, and future expansion
Weekly Reporting:
• Conduct project review meetings and KPI assessments
• Review design submissions, change requests, and vendor deliverables
• Align with sales, operations, and finance teams
Monthly Reporting:
• Portfolio performance and financial reviews
• Resource and capacity planning
• Senior management reporting and strategic planning
• Lessons learned and process improvement initiatives
