Job Description:
Fortek is looking for a skilled AutoCAD Draftsman to join our team and support the preparation of accurate, high-quality technical drawings and documentation for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, networking, and data center infrastructure projects. The role involves 2D/3D drafting, shop drawings, technical documentation, revisions, and as-built drawings, with opportunities for experienced candidates to take on additional responsibilities in drawing quality control, coordination, mentoring, and drafting supervision. Job Location: Head Office, Islamabad — with travel to project/client sites across Pakistan as required per Business needs.

Job Experience Required:
- 6–10+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience — candidates across this full experience range are encouraged to apply
- Exposure to ICT infrastructure, electrical, MEP or data center drafting is preferred; prior team-lead/supervisory experience is an advantage
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Drawing turnaround time and accuracy against project schedule and site as-built condition
- Timeliness and completeness of as-built documentation at project closeout
- Adherence to document control and drawing revision standards

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Drafting & Design Documentation (All Levels)
- Prepare 2D/3D layout drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), rack elevations, and cable routing schematics using AutoCAD
- Convert site survey data, BOQs, and engineering inputs into formal, standards-compliant technical drawings
- Prepare data center and network layout drawings covering power, cooling, cabling, and equipment placement
- Maintain drawing templates, layers, title blocks, and version control per Fortek's documentation standards
2. BOQ, Technical Documentation & As-Built Delivery
- Cross-check drawing dimensions and quantities against approved BOQs prior to issuance
- Coordinate with site teams to capture field changes and update drawings accordingly
- Prepare and issue as-built drawings and O&M documentation packages for client handover
- Maintain a structured, auditable drawing register with full revision history per project
3. Quality Control & Standards Compliance
- Review drawing output produced by junior draftsmen for accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance
- Resolve cross-discipline drawing conflicts (MEP, electrical, networking, civil) before issuance for execution
- Enforce Fortek's AutoCAD/BIM drawing standards and apply IEC, TIA/EIA, and applicable local codes consistently
4. Site, Vendor & Client Coordination
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Assistant Managers, and OEM/vendor technical teams on design intent and specification integration
- Conduct site visits to verify drawing accuracy against physical installation
- At senior grades: represent the drafting function in client and internal design review meetings, and provide final sign-off on drawing packages
5. Team Leadership & Function Governance
- Lead and allocate drafting resources across concurrent projects, where placed at supervisory grade
- Mentor, train, and appraise junior/senior draftsmen
- Own documentation governance — version control, approval workflows, and archival — across the drafting function
- Drive adoption of Odoo 18 project workflows for drafting task tracking and reporting
Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

Daily Reporting:
Prepare/review AutoCAD drawings per assigned project scope
Coordinate with Site Engineers/Assistant Managers on design inputs and field changes
Maintain drawing register, file naming, and revision log
Weekly Reporting:
Submit weekly drawing progress/status report to reporting manager
Cross-check issued drawings against BOQ and site condition
Conduct design review/mentoring session
Monthly Reporting:
Compile as-built documentation packages for completed projects
Review and update drawing standards/templates library
Complete assigned training/certification modules
