Job Description:

The DM – Data Center & Critical Infrastructure plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and efficiency of electrical systems across data center environments and client deployments. This role operates in a fast-paced, SLA-driven service and project environment, supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure including Tier II–IV facilities.

The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of electrical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, and monitoring platforms, while working closely with internal engineering teams, OEMs, and customers. The role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on troubleshooting capability, and the ability to deliver high-quality service operations aligned with strict SLAs.

    Educational Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering (Mandatory)
    • PEC Registration (Preferred)
    • Additional certifications in power systems or data center technologies will be an advantage

    Professional Certifications (Preferred)

    • Huawei Certified ICT Professional / Associate – Data Center Facility
    • Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or equivalent
    • OEM Certifications (Vertiv, Schneider, Huawei, etc.)
    • PMP or equivalent project management certification
    • Electrical Safety / NFPA / LOTO certifications

    Job Experience Required:
    • 5 – 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering focused on data centers and mission-critical facilities.

    • Proven track record in power systems design, load flow analysis, and electrical distribution systems from conceptual to execution phases.

    • Hands-on experience with UPS systems, generators, ATS/MBTS, switchgear, power factor correction, earthing & lightning protection systems, and short-circuit & coordination studies.

    • Demonstrated involvement with FEED / Detailed Design, Tendering Support, Vendor Evaluation, Construction Supervision, and Commissioning of electrical works.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Critical Power Infrastructure Management

    • Manage and maintain electrical systems including UPS, PDUs, generators, batteries (VRLA/Li-ion/BESS), and MV/LV switchgear.
    • Ensure uninterrupted power availability for mission-critical environments through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
    • Perform system health checks, load analysis, and redundancy validation (N, N+1, 2N architectures).
    • Analyze power quality issues such as harmonics, voltage fluctuations, and grounding faults.
    • Ensure proper configuration and optimization of electrical distribution systems.

    2. SLA-Driven Operations & Maintenance

    • Deliver 24/7 support for critical infrastructure under strict SLA commitments.
    • Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
    • Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and ensure rapid resolution to minimize downtime.
    • Maintain uptime targets aligned with Tier standards and contractual SLAs.
    • Prepare and maintain detailed service reports, incident logs, and RCA documentation.

    3. Project Execution & Deployment

    • Lead installation, commissioning, and integration of electrical infrastructure for data center projects.
    • Execute upgrades, retrofits, and expansions of power systems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, IT, networking) for integrated project delivery.
    • Validate design drawings, SLDs, and technical submittals before execution.
    • Ensure compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.

    4. Monitoring, Automation & Reporting

    • Utilize DCIM/BMS/EMS tools for real-time monitoring of electrical systems.
    • Analyze performance data to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
    • Develop dashboards and reports for system performance, incidents, and energy utilization.
    • Support automation initiatives for predictive maintenance and fault detection.
    • Ensure proper alarm management and escalation procedures.

    5. Customer Engagement & Technical Support

    • Act as a technical focal point for customer interactions related to power infrastructure.
    • Provide expert guidance on load planning, capacity utilization, and redundancy strategies.
    • Manage customer expectations and ensure SLA compliance.
    • Support onboarding/offboarding of customers in colocation environments.
    • Conduct technical presentations and reporting for stakeholders.

    6. Compliance, Safety & Standards

    • Ensure compliance with international standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, IEC, IEEE).
    • Implement and enforce electrical safety practices and LOTO procedures.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for power failures.
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
    • Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.

    7. Vendor & OEM Coordination

    • Liaise with OEMs and vendors for troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service agreements.
    • Support procurement in technical evaluation of equipment.
    • Coordinate with third-party contractors during installations and maintenance.
    • Stay updated with OEM technologies and product advancements.


Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

    Monitor electrical systems via DCIM/BMS dashboards
    Respond to alarms, incidents, and service requests
    Perform routine inspections of critical equipment
    Update logs, tickets, and incident reports
    Coordinate with onsite teams and customers

    Conduct preventive maintenance activities
    Review system performance and incident trends
    Test backup systems (UPS, generators, batteries)
    Participate in technical review meetings
    Validate SLA compliance metrics
