Job Description:

The Solution Architect – Servers & Storage will play a critical role in designing, positioning, and delivering enterprise-grade data center infrastructure solutions, focusing on compute, storage, virtualization, and hyperconverged environments. This role bridges pre-sales consulting, technical architecture, and delivery alignment to ensure high-performance, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions for clients across multiple industries.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise server platforms, storage technologies (SAN/NAS/HCI), and virtualization ecosystems, along with hands-on experience in solution design, vendor coordination, and technical proposal development. The role requires frequent travel across Pakistan and close collaboration with sales, engineering, and project delivery teams.

Job Location

Head Office (Islamabad) with frequent/occasional travel to project sites across Pakistan.

The candidate must be willing to travel frequently to project sites across Pakistan as per business requirements.

  • Skills & Tools:

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field
    • Master’s degree (preferred but not mandatory) in a relevant discipline
    • Strong foundation in data center infrastructure, enterprise IT systems, and virtualization

    Certifications (Preferred / Highly Valued)

    • VMware: VCP / VCAP / VCDX (preferred)
    • Microsoft: Azure Solutions Architect / Windows Server certifications
    • OEM Certifications (any leading vendors):
      • HPE ASE / Master ASE (Servers/Storage)
      • Dell Technologies (DCS / DCA / DCE)
      • Cisco UCS / Data Center certifications
    • Storage Certifications: NetApp, EMC, or equivalent
    • Cloud Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect / Azure Architect (preferred)
    • ITIL Foundation (added advantage for SLA environments)

    Technical Skills

    • Enterprise servers (rack, blade, modular architectures)
    • Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage, HCI)
    • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
    • Backup & disaster recovery solutions

    Job Experience Required:

    • Hands-on exposure to pre-sales, solution architecture, and technical consulting roles
    • Experience in project-based environments with SLA-driven delivery models
    • Exposure to multi-vendor environments and large-scale infrastructure deployments

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Solution Design & Architecture

    • Design end-to-end data center solutions including servers, storage, backup, and virtualization platforms
    • Develop high-level and low-level design documents (HLDs/LLDs) aligned with business and technical requirements
    • Architect scalable, resilient, and high-availability solutions based on industry best practices
    • Perform sizing, capacity planning, and performance optimization for compute and storage workloads
    • Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies including HCI, SDS, and hybrid cloud integrations

    2. Pre-Sales & Technical Consulting

    • Engage with clients to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
    • Support sales teams in solution positioning, technical presentations, and product demonstrations
    • Prepare technical proposals, BoQs, compliance matrices, and solution documentation
    • Participate in RFP/RFQ responses with complete technical compliance and competitive positioning
    • Conduct solution workshops, POCs, and technical discussions with stakeholders

    3. Vendor & Technology Management

    • Collaborate with OEMs and technology partners for solution validation and design optimization
    • Stay updated with emerging technologies in servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud
    • Manage vendor certifications, design guidelines, and best practices
    • Coordinate for pricing, configurations, and solution approvals with vendors
    • Ensure alignment with vendor roadmaps and enterprise solution standards

    4. Project Handover & Delivery Alignment

    • Ensure seamless transition of designed solutions to project delivery and implementation teams
    • Provide technical guidance during deployment, troubleshooting, and commissioning
    • Review implementation plans and ensure adherence to design standards
    • Support post-deployment validation, performance testing, and optimization
    • Participate in SLA-driven project environments ensuring uptime and reliability

    5. Documentation & Compliance

    • Develop and maintain detailed solution documentation, diagrams, and technical reports
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, SLAs, and organizational policies
    • Maintain version control and documentation repositories for all solutions
    • Conduct internal knowledge-sharing sessions and technical documentation updates
    • Support audit and compliance requirements for enterprise deployments

    6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities for solution optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement
    • Introduce new technologies such as AI-driven infrastructure, automation, and hybrid cloud
    • Contribute to solution standardization and reusable architecture frameworks
    • Lead internal technical training sessions and capability development initiatives
    • Support development of service offerings and solution portfolios
