Duties & Responsibilities

  • The General Manager – Technical & Projects is a pivotal leadership role within FORTEK PRIVATE LIMITED, responsible for overseeing the Technical Operations, planning, execution, and delivery of all projects. The GM-Technical will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of Active and Passive infrastructure.


    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Project Planning & Strategy:

      1. Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies.

      2. Ensure efficient execution and delivery while meeting quality standards.

    2. Team Leadership:

      1. Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, technicians, and support staff to achieve project goals and deliverables.

      2. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure project objectives are met.

    3. Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

      1. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements, managing expectations, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

      2. Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with project outcomes.

    4. Technical Oversight:

      1. Provide technical expertise and guidance in all aspects of Data Center design, construction, installation, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

    5. Pre-Sales and Post-Sales Technical Activities:

      1. Lead pre-sales technical activities, including solution design, feasibility assessments, and proposal development to meet client requirements.

      2. Oversee post-sales technical activities, including implementation, troubleshooting, and support to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.

    6. Budget Management:

      1. Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

    7. Quality Assurance & Control:

      1. Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and regulatory requirements.

      2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications.

    8. Risk Management & Compliance:

      1. Identify potential risks and issues proactively, develop mitigation strategies, and take corrective actions as needed to minimize project disruptions and delays.

      2. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and safety standards.

    9. Stakeholder Communication:

      1. Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, vendors, and contractors, providing updates on project progress, milestones, and issues resolution.

    10. Resource Allocation and Procurement:

      1. Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints.

      2. Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.

    11. Continuous Improvement:

    Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies, ensuring ongoing optimization and efficiency gains.

Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

  • Daily Reporting:
    Timesheets, conduct daily project status meetings with the project team to review progress and address any issues.

    Weekly Reporting:
    Review and update project schedules, milestones, and resource allocations.

    Monthly Reporting:
    Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders
