Job Description:
The Assistant
Manager – Electrical (Power Systems) is a mid-level technical leadership role
within Fortek's Technical & Projects department, responsible for the
execution, maintenance, and lifecycle management of critical power
infrastructure including UPS systems, LV/MV panels, ATS/AMF units, and
standby generators deployed across client sites nationwide. Operating from
the vendor/systems-integrator side of Pakistan's ICT infrastructure landscape,
the role bridges hands-on site execution with vendor coordination, quality
assurance, and SLA-driven service delivery. This position
demands strong technical command of power distribution and backup systems,
coupled with the leadership capability to supervise technicians, coordinate
with OEM vendors and subcontractors, and ensure zero-compromise on safety and
uptime commitments. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in sustaining
Fortek's reputation for reliable, standards-compliant power infrastructure
delivery within the Managed Services (SLA) domain.

Skills & Tools:
- Data Center infrastructure certifications such as CDCP / CTDC (preferred, not mandatory).
- OSHA / NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification for site safety compliance.
- OEM-issued training/certification on UPS, generator, or panel systems (any recognized manufacturer program).
- PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) registration is a plus for engineering-qualified candidates.
Job Experience Required:
6 to 10 years of progressive, hands-on experience in electrical and power systems (UPS, generators, panels, and related power works), preferably gained within the ICT infrastructure, systems integration, data center, or managed services (SLA) industry on the vendor/integrator side. Direct exposure to multi-site service delivery, redundancy configurations, and client-facing technical coordination is strongly preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities

1. Electrical & Power Infrastructure Execution
• Lead site-level installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical and power infrastructure works for assigned projects.
• Oversee execution of UPS systems, LV/MV panels, ATS/AMF panels, distribution boards, and cabling works in line with approved designs.
• Coordinate generator installation, synchronization, load-bank testing, and commissioning activities on client and project sites.
• Ensure power redundancy configurations (N+1 / 2N as applicable) are correctly implemented and validated before go-live.
• Review technical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and BOQs to ensure execution aligns with scope and specifications.
2. UPS, Generators & Panel Systems Management
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for UPS units, generators, ATS/AMF panels, and associated power accessories.
• Monitor battery bank health, load testing, and runtime performance to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Ensure timely fault diagnosis, root-cause analysis, and closure of electrical/power-related service tickets within SLA timelines.
• Coordinate spare parts planning, stock levels, and vendor support for critical power equipment.
• Maintain equipment health records, service logs, and asset history for all managed power systems.
3. Vendor, Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination
• Coordinate with OEM representatives, subcontractors, and third-party vendors for equipment supply, installation, and after-sales support.
• Support Procurement in technical evaluation of quotations, BOQs, and vendor proposals for electrical/power scopes.
• Liaise with internal Project Management, Pre-Sales, and Client Services teams to align site execution with contractual SLAs.
• Represent the Electrical/Power function during client site visits, audits, and progress review meetings.
• Manage subcontractor performance against agreed timelines, quality benchmarks, and safety standards.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Enforce QA/QC checkpoints for all electrical and power-related works, including FAT/SAT documentation.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols including LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out), PPE usage, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable standards (IEC, NEC, PEC, NFPA) and internal HSE policies.
• Conduct periodic safety briefings/toolbox talks for site technicians and supervise incident-free execution.
• Report and investigate any near-misses, incidents, or non-conformances, and drive corrective/preventive actions.
5. Team Supervision & Resource Management
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of Technicians, Senior Technicians, and Supervisors within the Electrical function.
• Plan manpower deployment and shift/roster coverage for ongoing sites and maintenance contracts.
• Identify training needs and coordinate skill-development sessions for team members on new equipment/technologies.
• Foster a collaborative, safety-first, and performance-driven team culture in line with Fortek's HR & Compliance standards.
6. Project Documentation, Reporting & Budgeting
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including test reports, RFIs, punch lists, and completion certificates.
• Track project budgets, material consumption, and cost variances for electrical/power work packages.
• Provide periodic progress reports, dashboards, and escalation summaries to the Manager – Technical & Projects.
• Support preparation of proposals, technical submittals, and post-project lessons-learned documentation.
Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)

Daily Reporting:
• Review overnight/open service tickets related to UPS, generators, and panels; assign priorities.
• Conduct or review site safety briefings before work commencement.
• Monitor ongoing site execution progress and address on-ground technical issues.
• Update daily activity logs and escalate critical faults immediately.
Weekly Reporting:
• Conduct preventive maintenance reviews for assigned UPS/generator/panel installations.
• Hold team coordination meetings to review workload, manpower allocation, and site priorities.
• Follow up with vendors/OEMs on pending spare parts, service visits, or escalations.
• Submit weekly progress and SLA compliance reports to the Manager – Technical & Projects.
Monthly Reporting:
• Prepare monthly maintenance and downtime analysis reports.
• Review budget utilization and cost variances against approved project/maintenance budgets.
• Conduct performance reviews and skill-gap assessments for team members.
• Coordinate audits/inspections and update compliance documentation as required.
