The Junior Technician – Networks & Security will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient setup, maintenance, and security of network infrastructure within the data center environment. From laying cables to installing and maintaining network equipment, the incumbent will contribute to the seamless operation of critical networking systems. Diploma or certification in networking, information technology, or related field.
Prior experience in network installation and maintenance.
Familiarity with network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and servers.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain passive network components including CCTV Cameras, Access Control & Security Devices, Copper and fiber optic cables, Connectors, Racks, and Cabinets.
• Perform physical network installations such as cable laying, termination, and labeling according to industry standards and project requirements.
• Assist senior technicians in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure components.
• Perform routine checks and inspections on network equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines during all network installation and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate network deployment schedules and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support and assistance to other team members as needed.
• Assist in the configuration and deployment of network devices such as routers, switches, and access points.
• Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of network connections to ensure proper functionality and performance.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement and technical support whenever needed.
• Conduct basic network performance monitoring and analysis to identify potential areas for improvement.
• Provide technical support to end-users regarding network connectivity and related issues.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures for network security and data protection.
• Assist in the implementation of network upgrades and expansions as directed by senior technicians.
• Assist senior technicians in conducting site surveys and preparing installation plans.
Reporting Responsibilities

Timesheets summarizing daily activities, including installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks. Provide updates on project progress and any challenges encountered during the day.
Summarize weekly achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. Report on inventory usage and requirements for upcoming project tasks.
Compile monthly installation and maintenance reports for review by project super. Analyze performance metrics and suggest areas for process improvement.
