Job Description:

Role Overview:

The Civil Site Supervisor/Engineer will oversee and manage the on-ground execution of all civil,
structural, architectural, and coordinated MEP works for the construction of a Data Center facility.

This role demands precision, strong supervision, safety awareness, and specialized understanding
of Data Center–specific construction requirements, including fire-rating, raised floors, equipment
rooms, and critical envelope works.

Evaluation Criteria (Performance Metrics):

The supervisor will be evaluated based on:

1. Quality of Work Execution
• Compliance with drawings, specifications, tolerances, and QA/QC standards.
• Minimization of rework and quality-related NCRs.

2. Site Coordination & Communication
• Effective coordination with MEP teams, subcontractors, and management.
• Timely reporting, documentation, and clarity in delivering instructions.

3. Progress & Productivity
• Achievement of daily/weekly targets.
• Efficient use of labor, tools, and materials.

4. Safety Compliance
• Zero major safety violations.
• Proper enforcement of PPE, safety rules, and hazard control.

5. Data Center–Specific Compliance
• Successful execution of fire-rated systems, precision leveling, raised floor preparations,
and envelope sealing.
• Accuracy in ensuring openings, sleeves, and equipment pads match MEP/ICT
requirements.

6. Problem-Solving & Decision Support
• Ability to resolve on-site issues promptly.
• Supporting the Manager with timely recommendations.

7. Professional Behavior

    Position Type:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, B-Tech (Civil), DAE in Civil Engineering or related field.

    • Excellent knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works.
    • Ability to interpret drawings (civil + MEP), sections, and coordinated layouts.
    • Familiarity with data center construction standards, precision leveling, fire-rating, insulation, and critical environment requirements.
    • Strong leadership skills for directing labor and subcontractor teams.
    • Effective communication and coordination capabilities.
    • Good command of MS Excel, MS Word, digital reporting tools.
    • Strong understanding of HSE procedures, emergency protocols, and safe work practices.
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet strict timelines, and maintain quality control

    Required experience:
    • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in civil construction supervision roles, preferably in the Data Center.

    • Proven track record of supervising structural and architectural works involving precision and high-quality finishing.
    • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.

    • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

    • Experience in coordinating and managing subcontractors and laborers.

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Execute and directly supervise civil, structural, and architectural works according to approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
    • Receive and review daily/weekly targets from the Manager, ensuring clear understanding of required tasks.
    • Conduct daily coordination meetings with the Manager and update them on site progress, challenges, and priorities.
    • Ensure complete understanding of drawings, details, levels, and site instructions before execution.
    • Arrange appropriate labor force, tools, machinery, materials, and ensure readiness for achieving daily targets.
    • Maintain continuous physical presence at work areas to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to drawings.
    • Coordinate with MEP teams, ensuring precise placement of sleeves, openings, inserts, supports, conduits, trenches, and equipment pads.
    • Supervise subcontractors, monitor progress, evaluate performance, and resolve site-level conflicts.
    • Enforce HSE guidelines, conduct toolbox talks, monitor safe work practices, and ensure compliance with company and statutory safety regulations.
    • Act as a liaison between various trades and provide daily progress updates to the Manager for decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with data center–specific construction activities, including Fire-rated wall systems, fire-rated doors, raised floor support systems, anti-static flooring readiness, and precision floor leveling.
    • Maintain documentation including checklists, IRs, NCRs, daily logs, and ensure timely inspections with consultants/client.

Reporting Responsibilities


  • Daily Tasks:
    • Provide detailed daily progress reports on construction activities, including work completed, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.
    • Document any safety incidents, accidents, or near misses that occur on the construction site.
    • Report on the utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient resource management.
    • Communicate any deviations from the project schedule or budget and propose corrective actions as necessary.

    Weekly Tasks:
    • Compile weekly status reports summarizing progress made on construction projects, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide updates on the status of ongoing tasks, upcoming milestones, and any changes to project timelines or scope.
    • Review manpower and equipment utilization for the week and identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Discuss any emerging issues or risks that may impact project delivery and propose mitigation strategies.

    Monthly Tasks:
    • Prepare comprehensive monthly project summaries detailing overall project progress, accomplishments, and challenges encountered.
    • Analyze key performance indicators, such as project timeline adherence, budget utilization, and quality metrics.
    • Provide insights into trends and patterns observed during the month and recommend actions to improve project performance.
    • Review safety performance metrics and identify opportunities to enhance safety protocols and practices.
    • Present monthly reports to project stakeholders, including clients, management, and project teams, to facilitate informed decision-making and ensure alignment with project objectives.
